Syllabus and Affiliation

The syllabi and course of study are designed according to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi till secondary level - Class X and at the +2 level.
The options for the +2 level students are MPC with Biotechnology/ Computers and BPC with Biotechnology/Computers.
The Arts Group offers Math, Economics and Commerce with Computer as an optional subject.

Medium of instruction
The medium of instruction is English. Hindi / Telugu will be a major language as one of the Modern Indian Languages. Telugu/Sanskrit shall be taught as a third language.

Text books
Text books recommended by DAV Education Board are prescribed for classes upto VIII. For the rest CBSE approved NCERT books are followed.

Introduction of Biotechnology course at +2 level.

The Central Board of Secondary Education has introduced Biotechnology as an independent elective subject of study in the academic stream at the senior secondary level.

DAV Public School has introduced this course for +2 level students from the academic year 2003-04.

Biotechnology implies the use of microbial, animal, plant cells or enzymes to synthesize, breakdown or transform materials.

The course in the subject presents up-to-date basic concepts, techniques, applications and some class room practicals. The syllabus for class XI focuses on basic concepts and includes Introduction to Biotechnology.

Biomolecules, Cell and Development, Genetics and Molecular Biology.

The options for the +2 level students are MPC with Biotechnology/Computers and BPC with Biotechnology/Computers.

Morning Assembly and Moral Instructions:

"Let noble thoughts come to us from every side.’

To instill moral values in the students, each working day in the school starts with the Morning Assembly with recitation of Veda mantras,   devotional and patriotic songs and quotations. Stress is laid on the universal aspects and eternal values of Indian Culture. Students are introduced to the rich spiritual heritage of Indian Philosophy which transcends the narrow limits of caste, colour, language and creed. The academic and co curricular activities go a long way in building up an atmosphere in which young minds get unconsciously exposed to the time honoured and universal values of life. Short talks are given by students as well as teachers and by the invited guests on a variety of subjects such as Good manners, Hygiene and Important Events of day-to-day life, besides references from the lives of great men. Every Morning Assembly disperses with the singing of the National song/National Anthem
