D A V PUBLIC SCHOOL SAFILGUDA "We believe that every child has a dream and the potential to make a difference. And we believe in helping him to achieve it". THE DAV Movement: Deeply entrenched in the time tested values of the Hindu Philosophy and yet fiercely committed to openness of intellect and scientific quest, the ideology that gave birth to the DAV movement took shape in the mind of a great personality, Swami Dayanand Saraswati, the founder of the Arya Samaj. The DAV movement, drawing inspiration from the ideals put forth by Arya Samaj, founded in 1885 the largest Non-Government educational organization in the country, managing 670 educational institutions spread all over India. DAVPS Hyderabad: DAVPS Hyderabad, was first established in 1983 and has slowly and steadily gained the status of a full fledged educational institution with a total strength of 3900. Presently, the school is spread over 3 acres of land at Safilguda with 120 rooms of which 76 are used as classrooms. All amenities and facilities are provided to our children to ensure that when they pass out of the portals of our school, they enter the world as caring, responsible and complete individuals, worthy of being emulated. A dedicated staff of well trained teachers provide an atmosphere of love, encouragement and acceptance to the child thus contributing to his overall development. Smt. Seetha Kiran, Regional Director, South Zone and Principal of DAV Public School, Safilguda is the recipient of the prestigious CBSE National Award for the Best Teacher for the year 2002 and is totally committed to excellence in education. The institution has stood steadfast in maintaining high standards in academic as well as co-curricular activities. Stress is given on systematic and quality assessment of every student though slip tests, unit tests, quarterly, half yearly and annual examinations, thus avoiding arbitrary assessment. In order to facilitate the regular progress of the child, open house sessions are conducted after each test/examination and on all working Saturdays. They are exposed to house-wise competitions in literary, cultural and sports activities. Students are also given innumerable opportunities to participate in various inter school competitions. They are given balanced training in arts and craft, music, classical dance, aerobics, karate and kungfu, computers, etc. Planned field trips, excursions and exposure to exhibitions/workshops are arranged as an extension of teaching-learning programmes to give them first hand experience.
